Santiam Pinnacle

The Santiam Pinnacle is a unique tall roadside outcrop rock formation that has entertained rock climbers since the 1960s. This outcrop is easy to miss when driving along Highway 20, because the formation is slightly hidden amongst the trees, even though it's very close to the road. The standard South Face Route is by far the best rock climb here and it is definitely worth the ascent.

Services: The nearest gas station is located in Sweet Home, Oregon.

Amenities: The nearest grocery stores are in Sweet Home, also. This town has a minor selection of fast-food eateries, restaurants, and taverns.

Camping: Plenty of free roadside car camping exists along U.S. Hwy 20 (or along the NF gravel roads) in the region near the climbing site. Nearby fee campgrounds are House Rock CG, Fernview CG, and Lost Prairie CG (to name just a few).

Seasonal Factors: The climbing site is usually available from June-October (3500' elevation).
